Carlsbad High School invites you to join us in celebrating the Class of 2020 on Friday, May 22. Family, friends, and community who would like to participate in the reverse parade are more than welcome. The parade will begin at the Bob Forrest Sports Complex; parade line will start at 4:30 pm. The sports complex is the only parking lot near our campus that is large enough to accommodate the amount of vehicles we anticipate will attend. At approximately 5:50 pm, the Carlsbad Police and Carlsbad Fire Departments will begin the parade procession on its route towards CHS. At 6:00 pm, the parade will enter the campus through Cavemen Drive.

Only the following vehicle types will be permitted to participate in the parade: cars, trucks (no semi-trucks), vans, and jeeps will be allowed. Parents, family, and friends are encouraged to decorate vehicles in honor of graduates. ATV’s, UTV’s, trailers of any kind, tractors, RVs, and horses will not be permitted to participate.

Red Rocket will be live streaming the celebration. The link will be made available on Friday, May 22, prior to the celebration. You can find the link on the Carlsbad Municipal School Facebook page. Visit the link by 5:19 pm to view the prerecorded speeches of the Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and addresses from Superintendent Dr. Gerry Washburn and Principal Jesse Fuentes. The ceremony will also be aired live on CD104 radio station.

Students will be seated along the parade route on campus (nine feet apart) in compliance with social distancing guidelines. Photographs will be allowed. We only ask that you make photos brief to keep the flow of traffic steady. All parade participants must stay in their vehicles.

We hope you join CHS in honoring the Class of 2020. Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping students, families, and staff safe.
