1) Teacher/Employee of the Month

2) Employee & Community Recognitions 

School Board Recognizes Packs for Hunger Staff
Carlsbad Municipal School Board recognizes Packs for Hunger Group Epsilon Sigma Alpha Community Group was recognized for providing food to students on the weekends and holidays.

3) Student Advisor - Student Advisor, Mason McGeath shared highlights from CHS and CECHS.   

*Student Council will be travelling with over 20 students to ENMU-Roswell for the Spring Southeast District Conference on April 3rd.
*Student Council has rescheduled the “Movie on the Green” event to Thursday, April 18th at 7:30pm just before the 4 day weekend of Easter break. Everyone is invited to attend!
*Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 th . Early College and Carlsbad High School Juniors and Seniors are all welcome to attend along with a guest.  Ticket Sales will begin on Tuesday, April 2nd .

CECHS Highlights: 
*Carlsbad Early College High School was the first Early College in New Mexico to receive this designation from the Public Education Department.  Principal Fuentes was presented the Certificate of Designation on October
25, 2018.
*The students at CECHS live by the Charater Count Pillars of Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness and Citizenship on a daily basis. 37 students have been recognized as students of character.
*Aaron Braddock who is an intern for the City of Carlsbad in the Mayor’s office wrote an article in support of Carlsbad’s Business Professionals of America. You can read the article on the City of Carlsbad website.
*The American Association of University Women (AAUW) empowers women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. Each year, AAUW Carlsbad recognizes female high school students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements.  Students with a 3.5 or higher GPA are recognized and celebrated at an annual scholars brunch.  Out of the 130 female students at the early college, on March 10th , 50 of the female students were recognized for meeting and/or exceeding the AAUW
standards of excellence in academics.

Board Member, Ron Singleton, recognized Joe Stanley Smith (JSS) elementary school student Joe Rueda for winning the JSS Art Contest.  Congratulations!
