About Our School
Since its establishment in 1954 as a cornerstone of education within the Carlsbad Municipal School District, Monterrey Elementary School situated at 1101 North 9th Street has maintained a dedication to fostering a strong academic community. The school's enrollment is around 400 students. Serving children from kindergarten through fifth grade, Monterrey Elementary offers a diverse range of educational opportunities. The curriculum includes core subjects such as science, mathematics, social studies, and English, as well as enriching classes in art, music, STEM, and physical education. The school has been recognized as a high-performing institution within New Mexico. Recent school news includes a successful PTA Color Run fundraiser in 2025 and ongoing district-level construction and improvements.
