Welcome to the Special Services Department
The Carlsbad Municipal School District provides comprehensive educational programs and services for students with disabilities, ages 3 to 21. Our mission, “Excellence Today, Opportunity Tomorrow,” guides our commitment to ensuring all students have access to specialized support and resources tailored to their individual needs. Through an integrated approach to general and special education, we empower every student to achieve their fullest potential.

Our Vision
To challenge and inspire all students to develop the skills and aptitudes necessary to succeed in their post-secondary goals and positively impact their world.

    The Carlsbad Municipal Schools (CMS) affords certain rights to students with disabilities and their parents as set forth in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. Sec.706(8)).
